What's Been Happening in Room 10?

We made Lamingtons for 'L' week.

For Art we have been doing different types of printing.

We have also been learning about Aboriginal Art. We have used some Aboriginal symbols and stories to give us ideas for prints.

Ella did such a good job reading with Lorraine, she became the teacher.

Science

We went down to the beach with Rooms 2 and 3 and made structures in groups. We went back the next day to see if our structures were stronger than the waves. There were only two structures, that were higher than the waves, and lots of sticks and rocks left.

We predicted how long it would take for a Jaffa to dissolve in a mouth. The shortest time guessed was 10 seconds and the longest time guessed was 50 minutes.

Some dissolved just after one minute and only Caleb and Hazel still had their Jaffas after two minutes.

We all chose an object from in our class and then we predicted if our object would float of sink. Some of them floated and some of them sank. Tarah and Ella's pieces of paper started floating and then they sank.

Room 10 Royalty

This week's letter was Q.

We read 'No Queen Today!' and then we made our own king and queen crowns.

We even had our own Royal Parade.

We Miss You Mrs Brown!

Room 10 was talking about the fantastic Mrs Brown this week and we decided to write down all of the things we miss about her.

this week during our writing sessions we have been working on describing each other. Watch our movie and try and work out who we are describing!

Our Kite Day

We sat on a mat on the field to have lunch. When Mrs Egarr said we could fly our kites we put our lunch away and flew our kites. Our kites flew high but then then they crashed to the ground and broke :(. We got our fish kites and they were better at flying. But Marcus's broke so he used Mrs Askins kite :). Some fish kites did a loop to loop to other fish kites. Lots of mums and dads came to watch us fly our kites. We had a fab afternoon flying our kites in the sunshine :D

This week we have been learning about the letter Tt. We have drawn pictures of things that begin with the letter t and have made play dough tigers. While using Kid Pix we drew these pictures and typed a sentence.
